Last day of class! I can't believe it either....

Study for you final that will take place on saturday May the 1st at 12:30 in Kimp 105.
If you want to come by for any questions about the final or to get your test I will be in the office on thursday from 11-2, or on dead day from 9-11 or I can try and arrange a meeting with you if you'd like to do another time.
I still don't have all the orals back, but i'll be sending you your grades on Friday.
I'll email the answers to the review as well.
Bonne chance! ne vous inquiétez pas! I've really enjoyed teaching this level and I think all of you should continue to take French! No sense in wasting your last 3 semesters of hard work :)
If you're around this summer I'll be around the office, I'm teaching 1003 the first session. Or if you're in France next year...that's where I'll be.

For those of you in my second class who asked about the accent aigu...the rule is just, and I quote, "quelquefois le e du féminin change en é" So the rule is that there are no rules...just tendencies... Sorry. But it is done for pronunciation purposes, so a good indicator is if there are three consonants together. As in with énormément. But it is not a sure-fired way to decide if you need an accent aigu or not. Just know the ones we discussed in class. Lentement is an exception because the 'n' is not actually pronounced because it is part of the 'en' nasal sound...

I also recommend reading the rest of the chapter. Because we only have 2 days left before the test, so if you have questions on something you are going to want to have your questions ready before then.
Don't forget about your orals!!! If you miss you have to have a doctor's note or other written excuse in order to make it up!!!!! It is like a test and you chose the time so you are responsible for being there. I have talked to a couple teachers and so far I've heard some good things! So don't worry!

-révisez vos verbes et les temps différents.
-if you miss the oral you cannot make it up without a doctor's note or other excused absence. So make sure you know where the room is, go with plenty of time in case you get lost...
-Don't worry! Just be confident. Try speaking in french a lot this weekend...have conversations with yourself...watch french movies...think french....beeee french :)

Aujourd'hui - la continuation du vocabulaire pour parler des films et de la musique. Aussi on a parlé des temps du passé composé, du plusqueparfait, et de l'imparfait.

Je vais vous envoyer par e-mail un "work-sheet" pour réviser les points de grammaire qu'on a fait jusqu'ici.
Important:
If you have a conflict during the time of the final exam (as in another exam scheduled at the same time) then you need to let me know as soon as possible. The only options for a make up are before noon on Saturday, and from 8-11 on Monday morning. I have to have the grades done by Monday afternoon. I cannot test you on Friday because it's dead day. The final is at 12:30 on Saturday. I do not know the place yet.
For your oral - if you don't remember your teacher/time/place then you need to ask me soon. Not the day of. If you miss the oral, then it is like missing a test. You must have a valid doctor's note to be able to make it up.
The third exam is on the syllabus for Friday the 23rd, but we are moving it to the following Monday the 26th.
Please make sure you are looking at this blog earlier than hours before class. I usually post at 4:00 in the afternoon, so start making it a habit to check it that evening so that you are aware of anything important that I might need to tell you. Just put it in your routine: e-mail, facebook, french blog.
